Thursday 2 July Sports Day! Juniors (9.30 – 11.30 am) and Infants (1.30 – 2.30 pm). Children can come to school in their PE kits. Please provide a sun hat for your child to wear. Staff will be selling hot and cold drinks for spectators. School will provide water and a snack for all the children taking part. Based on the weather forecast, we will take a decision by 8.30am on the day if the event can go ahead. We realize that this can be very inconvenient if parents have taken time off work but the safety of the children while taking part is our priority. If we need to postpone, our reserve day is Monday 6th July at the same times.

On Friday our Nursery morning children will enjoy a trip to Liverpool and during the morning our Year 5 children will go to Cineworld to watch their films created earlier in the year.

Information – The start time for the Year 6 Leavers’ BBQ on Thursday 16 July has been changed to 5.30 pm.

On Thursday a team from school took part in a ‘High 5’ Netball tournament at Rainford High School. They played extremely well but unfortunately were knocked out in the semi finals.

On Friday, 8 children from Year 6 went to Ruskin Drive for a Cricket Tournament. During Friday, Eaves Primary visited our school to play against our children in a table tennis competition.

Week beginning 8 June:

Tuesday
Year 2 will visit the Walker Art Gallery as part of their cultural pathway. Y4DB will be going to the Saints Smart School and some Year 6 pupils will take part in a Rounders Tournament at Bleak Hill Primary.
At 5.15 pm the Resources and Business Planning Committee of the governors will meet.
Friday Year 5 are having a Victorian Day and many of our Year 4 children will leave school to go on this year’s PGL Holiday at Boreatton Park. We hope they all have a lovely time.

Head Lice – ONCE A WEEK TAKE A PEEK
Please can I ask that all parents and carers check their children’s hair for head lice every week. Unless every parent takes this problem seriously and checks their child’s hair then head lice will continue to spread quickly between the children and understandably this is very frustrating for parents. Using conditioner and a fine comb is a good way of removing any lice (avoiding harsh chemical treatments) and we still have some specially designed kits available free in school for this purpose. Please call in and ask Miss Gregory for a kit if this will help. Please can all girls come to school with their hair tied back as this will help in preventing a spread. Please help us to minimize this problem in school.
