Newsletter 15th July 2016

This Week

The children had a very successful transition morning across school on Monday and they all had chance to meet their new teachers (and new class mates in the case of Y2 and Y4). Year 6 had a transition day at St Cuthberts, Year 1 went to Walton Gardens, Nursery visited Gioco, Year 5 went to Cineworld to watch the films that they had created earlier in the year, year 5 also went on a trip to Gulliver’s world and Year 3 Gold Trip went to Famer Teds. Last night the Year 6 pupils performed ‘A Night at the Musicals’ and it was the most amazing school show I have ever had the privilege to watch. A huge well done to all the cast for their phenomenal achievements.

Next Week

Monday: year 5 Gold Trip to Southport, Reception transition meeting 9am, Nursery sports activity session with parents at 10:30am and 2pm. year 3 transition meeting 2:30pm
Tuesday: Year 4 Gold trip, Year 3 fun day
Wednesday: Year 2 trip to Formby beach, Year 4 trip to New Brighton, foundation stage fun day, Year 6 leavers’ assembly at 9:30am and leavers’ BBQ at 5:30pm. School closes at our normal time on Thursday for the summer holiday – have a lovely time!

After consultation, it has been agreed to bring our Nursery finish time in line with the whole school finish time of 3.15pm. This will hopefully make the end of the day easier to manage for all children, parents and staff. It will also avoid the need to wait for Nursery children after collecting other children from school. Therefore, the Nursery afternoon session will run from 12.15pm to 3.15pm.
