Children in Year 2 receive weekly homework every Friday. Their homework is sent home in their special homework folders they were given in Year 1.

Homework usually contains one piece of literacy and one numeracy activity to reinforce the learning children have been implementing in school that week. Sometimes your child may also receive homework related to their new topic, encouraging them to research their own information or let us know what things they would like to learn as part of their activities.
Along with the homework we also send home an evaluation sheet to be completed by parents to inform us of how the children managed with their homework and to record any comments on their child's progress.
Teachers record when children return their homework and prizes are given on a half termly basis for those children who do their homework every week. Please encourage your child to complete their homework weekly as it will help them to reinforce their learning in school and help them to make more progress.
Children will also bring home a reading book each week which they need to practice 2 or 3 times a week to develop their confidence as an independent reader.
